How We Work
Every engagement begins with understanding, not assumptions.
Step 1: Initial Review
An assessment of materials, condition, volume, and intent.
Step 2: Preservation Plan
A proposed structure outlining scope, priorities, and methods.
Step 3: Archival Work
Careful handling, digitisation, organization, and documentation.
Step 4: Delivery & Guidance
Clear handover with guidance for future stewardship.
No two archives are treated the same.
Materials & Standards
At Adam Archival, preservation begins with the materials we use.
We work with archival-grade storage and handling materials designed for long-term stability. These include acid-free, lignin-free papers, archival sleevs, and conservation-quality storage boxes.
Where appropriate, we source from established preservation suppliers such as Gaylord Archival, Talas, University Products: The Archival Company and Goppian: The Art of Case Design, whose products are widely used by libraries, museums, and archival institutions.
Materials are selected with care to ensure that photographs and documents are protected from environment factors such as light, humidity, and chemical degradation.
Our approach is guided by a simple principle:
Preservation is not only about storing materials, but ensuring they remain stable, accessible, and meaningful over time.
